As a handcrafted organic product, your Pericón is a unique piece that requires a simple but essential curing process before its first use. To seal the natural gourd and ensure the best flavor, fill it with used yerba mate and a splash of warm water, letting it sit for 24 hours before gently scraping the interior walls with a spoon. Because this is a natural material, you may notice slight variations in shape and size, which only add to its authentic character. To preserve the premium leather exterior, always avoid soaking it during cleaning and hand-dry it immediately if it comes into contact with water. After each session, remember to rinse the interior thoroughly and allow it to air dry in a well-ventilated spot to keep your mate in perfect condition for years to come.
