To ensure your Candombe Gourd lasts a lifetime, a simple but essential ritual is required. Before its first use, you must cure the natural gourd by filling it with damp yerba for 24 hours to seal its pores. After each session, rinse the interior with warm water only (never use soap!) and always let it dry completely, tilted at an angle in a well-ventilated spot to prevent mold. Finally, keep the leather, the lacquered Alpaca rim, and the bronze feet dry to preserve their luxurious finish and deep patina.
